Players of  Boxing  team, one of the ten sport teams of St. John Sports Society Korogocho, continues to perform well in the various tournaments of the country’s Kenya Amateur Boxing Association.  

The team recently participated in the Novices championships held in Kawangware slum where it emerged number three out of the seventeen teams which took part in the games. Five players of the team won certificates for winning in their various categories. The five winners presented Nairobi province at the Kenya novices Tournament held at the same venue.

Three members of the St. John Sports Society Karate team have been selected to the Kenya National Karate team. Peter Otieno, Michael Owino and Andrew Odhiambo will be the face of St. John Sports Society Korogocho as they join other players country wide to form the national team. These selections come at a time when players from the Korogocho based team have won trophies and certificates for impressive performance in the various tournaments they have registered for in the last few weeks.

The former national coach  Jacob Ghost Mulei was in Korogocho community to give a word of encouragement to a large number of youth’s who turned up for the one week sport activity and human formation courtesy of the Saint John’s sport’s society Korogocho. With the theme “Peace and reconciliation”, the coach asked the youth’s to restrain themselves from violence and also not to accept to be used by greedy politician but to use there full potential in bringing the positive changes in the society.
